#179 & #180 at the Laverton Creek Mouth, Altona, Victoria, May 7 2016

I've been thinking a lot lately about why I go birding. And for a while I think I've been getting it wrong by chasing 'targets' and trying to get some 'ticks'. Today I decided to do the exact opposite, and go out with the camera to one of my favourite locations and just see what I could see and enjoy taking photos. And I really, really enjoyed it. I had an amazing morning!!! The weather was perfect, the light could not have been better, and I got some great photos. I think this mindset suits me much better. And I managed to get two 'common' species for the photo year list.

#179 Superb Fairy-wren

#180 Australasian Pipit
I've included some more photos from the day on my eBird checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S29451542
